NHIA Builds Administrative Capacity to Improve Service Delivery

• 2 MIN READ

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has begun strengthening the capacity of its administrative workforce as part of efforts to improve efficiency and support the delivery of Universal Health Coverage.

The initiative forms part of a nationwide refresher training programme for administrative staff, with the fourth batch comprising personnel from the Ahafo, Bono and Bono East Regions.

The three-day training, which began on Wednesday, is being held in Sunyani under the theme, “Office Management Excellence: Ethics and Teamwork.”

The programme, organised by the Administration and Human Resources Directorate through its Training and Development Unit, is designed to sharpen participants’ skills and improve their effectiveness in carrying out their responsibilities.

Speaking at the training, the Bono Regional Acting Director, Isaac Badu Amponsah, commended the NHIA’s Executive Management for investing in staff development and creating opportunities for employees to enhance their professional skills.

He described administrative staff as the “engine of growth” of the Authority and urged them to take a proactive approach to their daily responsibilities.

The Human Resource Manager, Ms Erica Owusu Peprah, also encouraged participants to remain attentive and actively engage with the sessions to gain maximum benefit from the programme.

The training is being facilitated by CBM Consult Ltd, a corporate and professional training consortium.

The company’s Senior Consultant, Theophilus Appah, took participants through a range of areas relevant to modern office administration. These included the changing face of administration, office management responsibilities, work ethics, productivity, records organisation, filing systems and the management of essential and sensitive information.

Participants are also being equipped with skills in coordinating and managing effective meetings, as well as using office technology to improve workplace efficiency.
