Kwadaso Municipal Assembly Engages Traders, Stakeholders on Tanoso Market Redevelopment

2 MIN READ

The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has engaged traders and other stakeholders on the redevelopment of the Tanoso Market in a meeting at the Church of Christ.

Officials of the Assembly on Wednesday explained that the redevelopment project aims to improve market infrastructure, sanitation, and trading conditions for both traders and customers.

The Assembly also assured traders that priority in the allocation of stalls and stores after the redevelopment would be given to those currently operating at the market before any new allocations are made.

At the meeting, it was agreed that traders would be given one month to relocate to an alternative site provided by the chiefs and refurbished by the Assembly to pave the way for the commencement of the redevelopment project.

The traders welcomed the decision and pledged their cooperation to ensure a smooth relocation process.

“We appreciate the Assembly and Nananom for providing us with an alternative site. We will relocate within the agreed period so that the project can begin,” one of the market leaders said.

Present at the meeting were the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Mr Eric Asibey; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Adu Boateng; the Municipal Engineer, Mr Frederick Gbagba; the Municipal Planning Officer, Mr Isaac Kyeremateng; and the Municipal Physical Planning Officer, Mrs Benedicta Nana Ansah.

Also present were chiefs from the Tanoso Palace, the Assembly Member for Tanoso North, Mr Kwabena Adusi Poku, unit committee members, some staff of the Assembly, traders and residents.
