President Mahama Assures Investors of Stable Business Environment

2 MIN READ

President John Dramani Mahama has assured investors that Government will continue to provide a stable and predictable business environment to support long-term private investment and economic growth.

He said the partnership between Government and the private sector was essential to accelerating national development, noting that the State could not undertake every major investment on its own.

In his address at the ceremonial sod-cutting for the US$1.3 billion Sentuo Airport Garden City Project in Accra, President Mahama said Government was committed to creating the conditions that allow businesses to invest, expand and succeed while ensuring that the benefits of investment reach Ghanaians.

“Government cannot and should not undertake every investment required for national development alone. Our responsibility is to provide a stable enabling environment in which businesses can invest, expand and succeed, while ensuring that the resulting opportunities and benefits reach our people,” he said.

President Mahama reaffirmed Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, simplifying regulatory procedures, strengthening industrial incentives and investing in technical education to make Ghana an attractive destination for productive investment.

He said the Airport Garden City Project demonstrated the confidence investors continued to place in Ghana’s economy and showed what could be achieved when private enterprise aligned with national development priorities.

The President stressed that Government was ready to work with investors who made genuine long-term commitments to the country but expected them to operate responsibly.

“We expect investors to fully comply with our laws, uphold the highest standards, and create genuine opportunities for Ghanaian businesses and workers to participate,” he stated.

President Mahama commended the Executive Chairman of Sentuo Group, Mr. Shu Ningquan, for his continued confidence in Ghana, noting that the businessman had made substantial investments across several sectors of the economy.

He recalled that earlier this year he broke ground for Phase Two of the Sentuo Refinery, which will add another 100,000 barrels of refining capacity, and revealed that the company also intends to establish a fertiliser production plant in Ghana to support local agriculture.

The President said Government would continue pursuing policies that encourage responsible investment, technology transfer, employment creation and sustainable economic development for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
