Ghana, Kenya Ports Deepen Cooperation on Operations

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has hosted the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) to share experience in port operations, with particular emphasis on outsourcing stevedoring services and enhancing efficiency through strategic partnerships with the private sector.

The three‑day visit would strengthen cooperation and promote knowledge exchange between the two port authorities.

The delegation, led by Mr Geoffrey Kavate, General Manager – Finance of KPA, including management and technical officials from the Port of Mombasa, was received by GPHA’s General Manager of Administration, Dr Samuel Danaa, and Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Delali Sewoekpor.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr Danaa confirmed GPHA’s commitment to promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing among ports across the African continent.

“Such exchanges provide valuable opportunities for institutions to learn from one another, adopt innovative practices, and collectively improve service delivery within the maritime industry,” he said.

The visit is expected to feature a series of engagements and technical sessions with GPHA officials, giving the KPA team first‑hand insight into the Authority’s operations and management systems.
