Interior Ministry Lifts Restriction on Motorbike Use in Binduri

The Ministry of Interior has announced the immediate lifting of the restriction on the use of motorbikes in Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region, which was imposed on April 28, 2026.
According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Government has decided to lift the restriction following a review of the security situation in the area.
The Ministry commended chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, the youth, and residents of Binduri and its surrounding communities for their cooperation, restraint, and support for the security agencies during the period of the restriction.
“The Government urges all residents to remain vigilant, maintain peace, and continue to support the security agencies in their efforts to sustain law and order in the area,” the statement said.
The Ministry further encouraged citizens to use peaceful and lawful means to address grievances and to promptly report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.
It reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and peaceful coexistence of all citizens.
