The Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment (MLJE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Africa–ACP Chamber of Trade and Investment (GACTI) to collaborate on the organisation of AFROMART 2026.

This is an employment and trade fair expected to facilitate job opportunities and promote trade and investment across the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) region.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Minister of Labour, Jobs and Employment, Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, said the partnership represents a new approach to employment creation by connecting job seekers directly with available opportunities.

“This partnership represents a fundamental shift in how Ghana approaches employment creation. We are moving from policy statements to practical action. This is not a conference or a symposium; it is a job aggregation and deployment platform that will deliver concrete opportunities to our citizens in real time,” he said.

The collaboration between the Ministry and GACTI will support the creation of a digital job registration and matching platform powered by artificial intelligence. The platform will enable job seekers and employers to connect beyond the AFROMART event.

The system will provide services including job matching, interview scheduling, skills assessment, training support and employer engagement.

AFROMART, which stands for Africa One Market Trade & Job Fair, is scheduled to take place later this year as a continuous 72-hour event.

It is expected to bring together job seekers, employers, exhibitors and investors from Ghana and other countries within the ACP region.

The event will feature a trade in Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) marketplace, a national and international job fair, and an investment forum to promote business engagements and investment opportunities.

The Ministry stated that the partnership supports the objectives of Ghana’s National Employment Policy, the Government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

It added that the designation of the AFROMART week as the National Week of Employment reflects government’s commitment to expanding access to employment opportunities and strengthening partnerships that support economic growth.

The Global President of GACTI, Prince Davidson, said the initiative would create a lasting employment infrastructure that connects job seekers with opportunities in Ghana and other international markets.

“We are building a permanent infrastructure for employment matching in Ghana. The job seekers who register will gain access to a platform with artificial intelligence-powered job matching to public and private sector jobs in Ghana and other regions, including the Gulf Cooperation Council, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the Americas,” he said.

He added that the platform would also provide interview scheduling, skills assessment and employer connection services.

He said that the 10,000 jobs expected to be facilitated during AFROMART 2026 would be the beginning of a wider employment support system that will continue to generate opportunities beyond the event.
