Ablekuma Central Assembly Supports Persons with Disabilities Through Common Fund
The Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly has provided support to persons with disabilities in the municipality under the Disability Common Fund to strengthen their livelihoods and promote their economic independence.
The disbursement programme, held at the forecourt of the Assembly, brought together the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Mr Abdul-Latif Dan; the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Frank Nkansah; and other stakeholders.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mr Nkansah urged them to use the items and support received responsibly and for their intended purposes.
He encouraged them to apply the assistance to improve their living conditions, support their daily activities and pursue opportunities for personal and economic development.
The programme was aimed at helping beneficiaries access resources that could improve their well-being and enable them to participate more actively in the social and economic life of the municipality.
The participation of the MP, MCE and other stakeholders also highlighted the importance of cooperation in advancing the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Through the Disability Common Fund, the Assembly seeks to support persons with disabilities and promote their access to opportunities and resources needed to live independently and with dignity.
The initiative forms part of efforts to advance inclusive local governance and ensure that persons with disabilities are considered in the municipality’s development process.
