Basic Schools in Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly Get Classroom Furniture

• 2 MIN READ

The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has provided more than 1,700 pieces of school furniture to public basic schools.

The furniture, handed over to the Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), is expected to help address shortages that can affect pupils’ comfort and the organisation of classroom activities.

The intervention places renewed attention on the importance of basic school infrastructure in supporting effective teaching and learning, particularly in public schools where shortages of essential classroom resources can create difficulties for both teachers and pupils.

At a ceremony held at Saleria School, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Musah Kalamu Adamu, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting education and called on school authorities to ensure that the furniture was properly maintained.

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ms Ewurabena Aubynn, also commended the Assembly for the intervention and pledged her continued support for education in the constituency.

The Assembly’s support forms part of local efforts to strengthen public basic education through the provision of essential learning infrastructure.

The intervention also highlights the importance of directing educational resources to schools according to their specific needs. A transparent distribution process would help ensure that schools experiencing the greatest shortages receive the necessary support.

Beyond the provision of furniture, maintaining the items and monitoring their use will be important to sustaining the benefits of the investment. School authorities, teachers and pupils all have a role to play in protecting public educational resources.
