Road projects in the Savannah region are captured in the second phase of the Big Push infrastructure programme.
The Minister of Finance is expected to announce this formerly when he presents
the national budget to Parliament in November.
President John Dramani Mahama disclosed this on Friday during the launch of the Basic School STEM project in Sawla, as part of his two-day Resetting Ghana working tour of the Savannah region.
Addressing a gathering, he said contractors would be mobilised early next year to begin work on the ground.
“Your roads are contained in the Big Push project for next year,
“You will hear it announced in the budget in November. Early next year, we will have the contractors on the ground working on the roads,” President Mahama told the gathering.
The President noted that the first phase of the Big Push programme, which he commissioned several months ago, has work going on simultaneously on about 2,000 kilometres of roads across the country, funded entirely from domestic resources.
He said the second phase is currently being scoped ahead of the November budget presentation.
