Works and Housing Minister Inspects Greenville Housing Project in South Dayi

The Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has inspected ongoing construction works on the Government’s Greenville District Housing Programme at Kpeve in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region.
The visit formed part of the Minister’s assessment of progress on the flagship housing initiative to expand access to decent and affordable accommodation in underserved communities across the country.
During the inspection, Mr Adjei noted that, as part of the initial phase, the programme is being implemented in eight selected districts, including South Dayi, Asuogyaman, Akyemansa, Ajumako Enyan Essiam, Atwima Kwanwoma, Dormaa West, Bole, and Tamale, before being rolled out to all 261 districts across the country.
He noted that the project incorporates locally sourced building materials, particularly Compressed Earth Bricks, to enhance environmental sustainability, reduce construction costs, and promote the use of indigenous materials in the building sector.
The Greenville District Housing Programme seeks to deliver between 20 and 41 housing units in each district, complete with essential infrastructure including electricity, potable water and sewage systems.
