Communication Ministry and GIFEC Donate Laptops to Aid Returnee Processing

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology & Innovations, together with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has donated 10 laptops to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
The devices are intended to support the processing of Ghanaian citizens returning from South Africa following xenophobic attacks.
The donation came after NADMO teams at Kotoka International Airport faced mounting challenges in manually logging and screening arrivals under fast-paced conditions.
According to the Ministry, the laptops, delivered under the directives of the sector Minister, Samuel Nartey George, introduced efficient digital screening and integration systems to ease the workload.
Explaining the motivation behind the intervention, Mr George stated, “The government functions as a single unit when the welfare of Ghanaians is at stake. When citizens return home from distressing circumstances, every available resource must be leveraged to make their transition seamless.”
He added that the initiative marks the beginning of a broader effort to ensure returnees are properly supported, while praising the remarkable teams at NADMO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their unwavering dedication.
“The Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology & Innovations remains proud to deploy technological solutions to back them up when the nation needs it most,” he concluded.
