2 MIN READ

Ghana is set to host the 10th edition of the Human Resource (HR) Café and the first international edition of the forum in Accra, bringing together public sector leaders, human resource professionals and experts to explore new approaches to human capital development and public administration.

The week-long conference, scheduled for September 7 to 13, 2026, is being organised by the Office of the President of Ghana in partnership with the Government of Burkina Faso.

A release issued by the Acting Director of ISD, Winnifred N. Mahama, PhD, on Wednesday in Accra said this will be the first time Burkina Faso’s annual Human Resource Management and Administrative Forum takes place outside the country. It is an important step for cooperation and public service innovation between Ghana and Burkina Faso.

It said the conference will be held at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) on the theme “Shaping the Future of Work: Human Capital, Artificial Intelligence, and Administrative Cross-Learning between Ghana and Burkina Faso.”

“As African countries adjust to new technology, changing workforce needs, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in government, HR Cafë 2026 will give state institutions a chance to share best practices, build public sector skills, and create more flexible, citizen-focused administrations,” the statement read.

It said that at the end of the conference, participants will adopt the “Accra Communiqué on Human Resource Development and Administrative Cooperation.” This document will set out a plan for continued cooperation and joint public sector reform.

According to the release, about 300 people are expected at the summit, including government officials, policymakers, leaders, CEOs, HR professionals, public administration experts, and representatives from universities, civil society, professional groups, and youth organisations.

“Journalists and media organisations are welcome to cover the opening ceremony, technical sessions, and main side events,” it said.

It stated that the Media Liaison Division of the Information Services Department must be notified by Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the latest, for accreditation purposes.

The release said, “For Media Inquiries & Press Accreditation, Email: accreditation @isd.gov.gh, Phone: 0241477739, Website: www.isd.gov.gh.”
