NRSA Leads Stakeholder Discussions on Rising Road Crashes

• 1 MIN READ

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, has convened a breakfast meeting to discuss measures to address the rising incidence of road traffic crashes, fatalities and injuries in Ghana.

The meeting, held at the Coconut Grove Hotel, brought together representatives from government ministries, road infrastructure agencies, the Ghana Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), transport unions, civil society organisations, road safety advocates and the media.

The engagement focused on identifying practical interventions to improve road safety and reduce crashes on the country’s roads.

Participants also explored ways to strengthen collaboration among institutions and secure commitments towards reducing road traffic fatalities and injuries.

The meeting reinforced the importance of a coordinated, multi-sectoral approach to road safety, with stakeholders acknowledging that addressing the country’s road safety challenges requires collective action and sustained cooperation among all relevant actors.
