ORC Opens Service Point at UMB Tema to Bring Business Services Closer to Public

2 MIN READ

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has opened a new service point at the Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) Tema Industrial Hub to make business registration and compliance services more accessible to businesses, entrepreneurs and the general public.

The ORC UMB Service Point is now operational and will provide selected services, including registration of business names and companies, filing of annual returns, renewal of business names, changes to business particulars and reprinting of business registration documents.

The initiative forms part of efforts by the ORC to improve access to its services and reduce the time and distance businesses and entrepreneurs spend travelling to obtain registration and compliance services.

The ORC said the partnership with UMB would help bring essential business services closer to the people, particularly those operating within Tema and its industrial and commercial communities.

“We want businesses to spend less time travelling to access our services and more time building and growing their enterprises. This service point brings ORC services closer to where businesses operate,” it said.

The ORC noted that  the partnership with UMB would also provide customers with greater convenience while supporting timely compliance with statutory business requirements.

The service point, located at the UMB Tema Industrial Hub Branch, is expected to serve businesses and entrepreneurs within Tema and surrounding areas who require ORC services.

The opening forms part of the ORC’s broader efforts to expand access to business registration and related services through partnerships that bring public services closer to citizens and businesses.
