President Mahama to Hold Bilateral Talks With President Lukashenko in Minsk

President John Dramani Mahama will  hold bilateral talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko at the Presidential Palace in Minsk, with four memoranda of understanding expected to be signed following the engagement.

The Monday talks will be preceded by a high-level meeting between officials of the two countries. 

Later in the afternoon, President Mahama will address a Ghana-Belarus business forum at the Presidential Hotel in Minsk.

Ghana’s delegation to the forum includes officials from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, alongside a group of private sector representatives.

The President, who is on a five-day official visit to Belarus at the invitation of President Lukashenko, spent part of the weekend touring Savushkin Product, one of the country’s largest agro-processing facilities. 

He also visited the Belagro Agricultural Exhibition, where he was introduced to a range of farming and mechanisation equipment and food processing machinery.

The visit is aimed at exploring new areas of economic, agricultural and technical cooperation between Ghana and Belarus.

Accompanying the President are Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Stan Xoese Dogbe, Advisor and Special Aide Joyce Bawah Mogtari, and Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim.
