NADMO receives relief items from CBG to support flood Victims

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has received a consignment of relief items from Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) to support individuals and families displaced by the recent floods in parts of Accra.
The donation, presented at NADMO’s headquarters in Accra, comprised boxes of mosquito coils, bags of sugar, student mattresses, bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, blankets and other essential household items to assist flood-affected households.
Receiving the items on behalf of the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for the Interior, Mr Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, and the National Disaster Management Committee, the Director-General of NADMO, Major Dr Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon (Rtd), expressed appreciation to Consolidated Bank Ghana for the timely intervention.
He described the donation as a significant contribution to the ongoing humanitarian response, noting that it would help alleviate the plight of affected families as NADMO continues to provide emergency relief to communities impacted by the floods.
Major Dr Kuyon also appealed to corporate organisations, development partners and philanthropic institutions to support the national relief effort by donating food, relief supplies and other essential items to complement the government’s response.
He said collaborative efforts between government and the private sector remained critical to ensuring that victims received the assistance needed to recover from the disaster.
Presenting the items, the Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana, Mrs Naomi Wolali Kwetey, said the donation formed part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
She explained that the gesture was intended to provide hope and relief to affected families while reaffirming the bank’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during times of crisis.
“As a responsible corporate institution, we believe it is our duty to stand with communities in difficult times. We hope this donation will bring some relief and comfort to those who have been affected by the floods,” she said.
