Ghana Invites Investors to Expand Tourism and Creative Industries

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has invited investors across the globe to explore business opportunities in Ghana’s tourism, hospitality, fashion and creative industries.
She said the government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment and making Ghana the preferred destination for tourism and cultural investment in West Africa.
Speaking in an interview with the Regional Director of One World Media USA Today, Clementine Hazeran, on Wednesday, Madam Gomashie said Ghana offers litigation-free land for investment and assured investors of government support.
She said she would personally support efforts to ensure investors receive the assistance they need to establish and grow their businesses in the country.
The Minister identified hotel development and the establishment of a world-class tourism and hospitality training institution as priority areas that require investment to improve Ghana’s tourism industry and raise service standards.
She encouraged middle-income Ghanaians to invest in domestic tourism by participating in organised tours and travel experiences.
She said Ghanaians must have confidence in the country’s economic prospects and contribute to the growth of the sector.
“Well-meaning Ghanaians should invest in Ghana,” she said, adding that government is also seeking partnerships with international investors to expand the tourism and creative economy.
She noted that Ghana’s hotel industry offers room for growth and invited both local entrepreneurs and international hospitality brands to establish or expand their presence in the country.
The Minister called on leading local and international fashion houses to invest in Ghana, describing the country as an emerging fashion destination supported by its cultural heritage, creative talent and growing consumer market.
She appealed to global streaming platforms, music production companies and recording studios to invest in Ghana’s creative sector.
She said the country’s music, film and creative talents continue to earn international recognition and present strong commercial opportunities.
Madam Gomashie reaffirmed the government’s commitment to using tourism, culture and the creative arts to promote economic growth, create jobs and support sustainable national development while strengthening Ghana’s position as Africa’s gateway for heritage, culture, business and investment.
The Regional Director of One World Media USA Today, Clementine Hazeran, praised Ghana’s hospitality. She stated that the warmth and friendliness of its people make the country an attractive destination for both tourists and investors.
