President Mahama to Cut Sod for Multi-Purpose Car Park, Airport Hotel Complex
President John Dramani Mahama will cut sod for the construction of a Multi-Tiered, Multi-Purpose Car Park and Airport Hotels Complex at the Kotoka International Airport enclave in Accra on Thursday.
This infrastructure project is expected to enhance parking capacity, improve passenger convenience and expand commercial and hospitality services within Ghana’s premier international gateway.
The development will feature a seven-storey car park with capacity for more than 2,000 vehicles, making it one of the largest airport parking facilities in the country.
The project will also include two hotels designed to serve business and transit travellers, as well as a pedestrian connector that will provide direct access between the complex and the airport terminal.
In addition, the mixed-use facility will comprise a shopping mall with a food court, a sky lounge for leisure and entertainment, and an aircraft-viewing sky observatory to offer visitors panoramic views of airport operations.
The sod-cutting ceremony will officially commence work on the integrated airport development, which forms part of efforts to modernise infrastructure and improve the overall travel experience at Kotoka International Airport.
