Afigya Kwabre South DCE Presents 200 Dual Desks to Schools

2 MIN READ

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Mrs Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has presented additional furniture to schools in the district to enhance teaching and learning.

The furniture, comprising 200 dual desks and teachers’ tables and chairs, will be distributed by the District Education Directorate to government schools across the district.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Ankrah said the intervention forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to address challenges in the education sector, particularly the furniture deficit.

She explained that the consignment includes 150 sets of hexagonal tables and chairs for kindergarten pupils.

According to her, the provision of the furniture will create a more conducive environment for both teachers and pupils and help improve educational outcomes in the district.

The DCE assured that the Assembly will continue to address educational challenges facing the district. She added that, after addressing the furniture deficit, attention would shift to improving school infrastructure.

Mrs Ankrah further disclosed that some school building projects the Assembly is undertaking are nearing completion and will soon be commissioned.

She appealed to teachers and school authorities to maintain the furniture properly so it benefits both current and future generations.

Receiving the items on behalf of the District Education Director, Mr Francis Kumanim commended the DCE for her continuous support for education in the district.

He recalled that earlier this year, the DCE donated 400 mono desks to schools and has now provided additional desks to reduce the deficit.

Mr Kumanim assured the DCE that the Education Directorate and the beneficiary schools would take good care of the furniture to ensure its longevity.
