OSF Explores Partnership with Ghana on ECOWAS Integration
The Open Society Foundation (OSF) has expressed interest in exploring partnerships and providing support for ECOWAS integration efforts.
This was discussed when President John Dramani Mahama met with the Chairman and Founder of the OSF, Alex Soros, in New York on Sunday.
Mr Soros, an investor and philanthropist who had previously engaged with President Mahama, said his organisation is interested in supporting regional integration in West Africa.
The meeting was a precursor to a planned presidential roundtable engagement being coordinated by the Foundation with a select group of global foundation presidents and CEOs.
The roundtable will include representatives from Gates, Ford, OSF, Hewlett Packard, Hilton, Rockefeller, Humanity United, Anglo American, Chandler and USB Optimus, among others.
The engagement forms part of President Mahama’s activities on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, where he is leading discussions on Africa’s renewal and global development.
