The Africa Drone Soccer Federation (ADSF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A-Tech Group Korea (ATGK) to accelerate the growth of Drone Soccer, STEM education, youth innovation, and drone technology capacity building across Ghana and the African continent.
The signing ceremony, held last Thursday in Osu, Accra, was jointly executed by ATGK Chief Executive Officer Mr Cheol Soo Lee and ADSF President Dr Alfred Kwanchie Dodoo.
According to the press release issued by the ADSF, this partnership sets out a strategic framework for collaboration in Drone Soccer infrastructure, supply of certified equipment, technology transfer, training and certification programmes, competition management, STEM integration, youth empowerment, and institutional development.
It also seeks to promote innovation ecosystems and strengthen technological cooperation between Ghana and the Republic of Korea.
Mr Cheol Soo Lee confirmed ATGK’s commitment to supporting Drone Soccer in Africa, pledging equipment, technical expertise, training, certification, and knowledge exchange.
“Through this partnership, we are pleased to support the Africa Drone Soccer Federation in establishing a sustainable Drone Soccer ecosystem that will create opportunities for young people and educational institutions across Ghana and Africa,” he said.
Dr Dodoo expressed appreciation to ATGK for its confidence in the Federation and its willingness to support the development of Drone Soccer on the continent. He noted that ADSF will collaborate with educational institutions, government agencies, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
Representing the Ghana Chapter of ADSF, Mr Michael Nii Armah Tagoe disclosed plans to establish Drone Soccer Clubs in first- and second-cycle schools nationwide. He emphasised that Drone Soccer offers a unique opportunity to combine sports with STEM education, nurturing the next generation of innovators and technology leaders.
The partnership is expected to facilitate the establishment of Drone Soccer arenas and training centres, certification programmes for coaches and referees, national and continental competitions, youth entrepreneurship initiatives, and regional hubs across Africa.
