Cabinet Approves New Industrial Policies for Textiles, Pharmaceuticals and Agribusiness

The Government has approved a new set of industrial policies aimed at strengthening Ghana’s manufacturing sector and creating a more attractive environment for investment in textiles, pharmaceuticals, component manufacturing and agribusiness.

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, announced the Cabinet approvals at the Türkiye Africa Investment Forum and Exhibition in Accra on Thursday.

She said the approved policies form part of government’s industrialisation agenda and are expected to provide a stronger policy framework to support businesses and attract investment across the targeted sectors.

According to the minister, the approvals demonstrate government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as a competitive destination for trade and investment. She added that the country’s industrialisation programme continues to expand through policies designed to support manufacturing and value addition.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare welcomed the participation of Turkish investors at the forum and said the event offered an opportunity to deepen trade and investment ties between Ghana and Türkiye.

She encouraged investors to explore opportunities in Ghana, especially in the textiles and garments sector, and urged participants to conclude the forum with practical business partnerships and investment agreements.
