Ghana Shippers’ Authority to Convene Stakeholder Forum on Clearance Delays and Shipping Costs
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has announced plans to convene a consultative forum with the Pharmaceutical Importers and Wholesalers Association (PIWA), relevant government agencies and other stakeholders to address shipping challenges affecting the pharmaceutical sector.
The announcement was made during a meeting between GSA and PIWA last Thursday.
The discussions focused on shipping-related challenges, particularly communication gaps that contribute to clearance delays, demurrage and other handling costs.
According to GSA, the planned consultative forum will seek to enhance information sharing, clarify regulatory requirements and explore measures to reduce clearance delays and associated costs.
The engagement forms part of efforts to address concerns within the shipping and cargo clearance process through collaboration among key stakeholders.
