KMA Partners with France to Position Kumasi as West Africa’s Next Investment Destination
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is deepening ties with France to attract foreign investment and position the city as a competitive destination for tourism, green energy and real estate development.
The Mayor, Mr Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, met with the French Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Diarra Dime’-Labille, to discuss new opportunities for Kumasi.
Key areas of interest include waste-to-energy, climate resilience, urban infrastructure, hospitality and local business development.
The Mayor outlined KMA’s vision for transformative projects such as an international convention centre and a waste-to-energy plant that will help address sanitation challenges while generating power and employment.
The French Ambassador welcomed the proposals and committed to facilitating partnerships between KMA and French companies and institutions with expertise in urban development.
She noted that Kumasi has “immense potential” and that stronger collaboration could unlock growth in tourism and sustainable infrastructure.
KMA stated that the engagement with France forms part of a broader strategy to attract investment and build a more resilient and prosperous Kumasi.
