NADMO Receives Relief Support from ADRA Ghana
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has received relief items from the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Ghana to support individuals and families affected by the recent floods across the country.
The items valued at US$20,000 included mattresses, blankets, washing and liquid soap, toilet rolls, tissue paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mosquito sprays and other household essentials aimed at restoring comfort and dignity to affected communities.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Director-General of NADMO, the Deputy Director-General in charge of Technical, Alhaji Ahmed-Rufai Aggudey, expressed appreciation to ADRA Ghana for the timely intervention.
He noted that the support would strengthen NADMO’s ongoing relief operations and help provide immediate assistance to flood-affected households in various parts of the country.
Alhaji Aggudey emphasised that effective disaster management depends on strong collaboration between government and its partners.
He therefore called on corporate organisations, faith-based institutions, development partners and philanthropists to support the national relief effort to alleviate the plight of flood victims.
The Country Director of ADRA Ghana, Dr Isaac Kankam-Boadu, said the donation demonstrates ADRA’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during emergencies.
He explained that the intervention was made possible through the support of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana, ADRA International, the ADRA Africa Regional Office and other development partners.
