ASHANTI REGION TRACKS 545 DACF PROJECTS ACROSS 43 DISTRICTS
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has convened a mandatory Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) meeting to engage Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and regional agencies on ongoing development projects across the Ashanti Region.
The meeting focused on updates and presentations on projects currently being implemented across the region, with particular emphasis on coordination, accountability and effective project monitoring.
According to Dr Amoakohene, the 2025–2026 District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is funding 545 projects across all 43 districts in the Ashanti Region. He disclosed that the projects are expected to deliver an estimated 3,000 facilities and items, covering critical areas such as boreholes, classroom blocks, and school furniture.
The Regional Minister explained that the figures presented at the RCC meeting covered only projects being implemented through the various MMDAs.
He noted that the figures did not include the numerous development projects being executed directly by the Central Government and its agencies across the region.
Dr Amoakohene said the engagement was necessary to strengthen coordination among stakeholders and ensure that projects were properly monitored and completed to deliver their intended benefits to residents.
He further announced plans to provide a district-by-district breakdown of the specific projects being implemented across the region to give residents and other stakeholders a clearer picture of government investments in their respective communities.
The Regional Minister reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that development projects translate into tangible improvements in the lives of the people.
“Ashanti Region is working, and we remain committed to ensuring that every project delivers value to our communities,” Dr Amoakohene stated.
The Regional Coordinating Council’s engagement was to strengthen oversight of development projects and ensure that public investments are efficiently translated into improved infrastructure and services for communities across the Ashanti Region.
