Guan District Assembly Upgrades Doctors’ Accommodation to Strengthen Rural Healthcare Delivery

The Guan District Assembly has renovated and handed over a Doctors’ Bungalow to the Likpe Bakua Polyclinic as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and attract more health professionals to serve communities in the district.

The project forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening health infrastructure and creating a conducive working environment for medical personnel to enhance the quality of healthcare services.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Assembly officials said the renovated facility would provide safe and comfortable accommodation for doctors and other health workers, helping to improve staff retention and encourage more medical professionals to accept postings to rural communities.

They stressed that investing in health infrastructure remains essential to ensuring residents have continuous access to quality healthcare services.

Management of the Likpe Bakua Polyclinic commended the Guan District Assembly for the intervention, describing the renovated bungalow as a timely investment that would address accommodation challenges faced by medical officers.

The management noted that the improved accommodation would contribute to enhanced healthcare delivery for residents of Likpe Bakua and neighbouring communities by supporting the continuous availability of medical personnel.

The project reflects the Assembly’s commitment to improving public service delivery through strategic investments in healthcare infrastructure and promoting the well-being of residents across the district.
