KMA Announces Massive Clean-Up Exercise at Alabar on October 3

• 1 MIN READ

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced, through a press release, an all-inclusive, massive clean-up exercise scheduled for Alabar, within the Afia Kobi Electoral Area, on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

The exercise, which is part of the Government’s monthly sanitation policy, also coincides with this year’s World Clean-up Day, a United Nations-recognised global initiative aimed at promoting environmental stewardship through community participation and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

In line with the exercise, the Assembly has directed that all commercial and trading activities in Alabar and its surrounding areas be temporarily suspended from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the designated date.

The specific operational zones affected by the temporary closure include Apagyafie Crossroads to Doctor Mensah and Aboabo Station to Apagyafie Crossroads.

Furthermore, the KMA has cautioned commercial vehicle drivers that movement of vehicles within the designated operational zones will be strictly prohibited during the hours of the exercise.

The Assembly is calling on all residents, traders, business owners, and transport operators within the community to comply with the directive and actively participate in the exercise to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
