KMA Opens Door for Global Partners to Position Kumasi as Investment-Ready Metropolis
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has intensified efforts to attract investment, technical support, and strategic partnerships to drive the city’s transformation into a modern and resilient metropolis.
Led by the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, a KMA delegation undertook a series of courtesy and working visits to key international development partners and diplomatic missions in Accra.
The engagements included meetings with GIZ Ghana, the Embassy of Japan, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the JICA country office, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
According to the Mayor, the visits were aimed at exploring new avenues for collaboration and strengthening existing partnerships that align with Kumasi’s vision of becoming an investment-ready and sustainable city.
“Kumasi cannot develop in isolation. We need strong global partnerships in infrastructure, environmental sustainability, urban governance and capacity building to improve the quality of life for our people,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation to the development partners and sister-city collaborators for their continued support over the years, noting that their contributions have been critical to projects across the metropolis.
The Mayor assured the partners of KMA’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investment and development, adding that the Assembly is focused on unlocking new opportunities that will accelerate the sustainable growth of Kumasi.
KMA reiterated its resolve to build stronger international relationships that will deliver tangible benefits to residents and position Kumasi as the commercial and cultural hub of Ghana and West Africa.
