As part of efforts to strengthen youth participation in peace and security initiatives, the National Commission of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NACSA) has visited Koforidua Senior High Technical School (KSTS) in the Eastern Region and Holy Family Senior High School in the Upper West Region.
The engagement brought together over 2,300 students and provided them with practical insights into the security challenges posed by illicit firearms.
NACSA taught students the importance of making responsible choices and resisting criminal influences. Discussions also focused on the impact of gun violence on communities, the legal implications of firearm-related offences, and the role of young people in supporting safer schools and communities.
The Commission highlighted the contributions of Regional Heads in advancing youth-centred approaches to peace and security. Through these efforts, NACSA reaffirms its commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders to build a gun-violence-free Ghana.
