The Minister of Transport, Joseph   Bukari Nikpe, has welcomed a delegation from Etihad Airways led by Captain Khalid Humaid Al Ali, Senior Vice President for Aeropolitical, International and Government Affairs, at the Ministry in Accra.

The delegation made this courtesy call to formally notify the Government of Ghana of the airline’s plans to commence direct flights between Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Accra in 2027.

The Flight is expected to add more air connectivity, promote trade and tourism as well as deepen bilateral relations between Ghana and the UAE, as it will boost Ghana’s Aviation sector.

Mr Bukari Nikpe, after welcoming the delegation, assured them that the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) stand ready to provide the necessary support to facilitate the successful launch of the airline’s operations.

He also appealed to the airline to explore opportunities to partner with the Government in its efforts to re-establish Ghana’s national airline.
