NRSA Engages Intercity Transport Operators Ahead of 2026 Safety Audit Ratings

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has engaged intercity transport operators and unions ahead of the 2026 Safety Audit Ratings as part of efforts to strengthen safety standards and improve commercial road transport operations.

Addressing participants, the Director-General of the NRSA, Abraham Amaliba, said the ratings exercise is not intended to punish transport operators but to recognise good performance and identify areas that require improvement.

He urged operators to regularise their operations through proper registration and licensing and maintain accurate records of vehicles and drivers.

Mr Amaliba also called on transport operators to ensure that drivers and road safety officers receive the appropriate training needed to promote safety and compliance within the sector.
