Takoradi Port Deepens Collaboration to Facilitate Transit Cargo
The Director of the Port of Takoradi, Captain James Richmond Quayson and his management team, together with representatives of the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and the Burkina Shippers Council, have engaged the Regional Police Headquarters and the Ghana Highway Authority on measures to promote transit trade through the Port of Takoradi.
The meeting held on Wednesday focused on issues of mutual interest aimed at enhancing the movement of transit cargo through the port.
The engagements provided a platform to strengthen institutional collaboration; address challenges associated with the transportation of transit cargo and explore practical measures to facilitate the efficient movement of goods through Ghana to Burkina Faso and other Sahelian countries.
Discussions ended with assurances from the relevant institutions to support and facilitate the smooth movement of transit cargo into and out of the Port of Takoradi.
This initiative reinforces the Port’s commitment to deepening regional trade partnerships, improving transit logistics, and positioning the Port of Takoradi as a preferred gateway for landlocked countries in the Sahelian region.
