Faustilove Calls for National Moral Reset, Urges Ghanaians to Rebuild Values

The Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Faustilove Appiah Kannin, has called for a national moral reset, urging Ghanaians to strengthen integrity, discipline, accountability, and patriotism as essential pillars for sustainable development.
Speaking at a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving service held in Obuasi, the MCE stressed that Ghana’s progress depends not only on physical infrastructure and economic investment, but also on the moral and ethical conduct of its citizens.
She warned that persistent challenges such as corruption, indiscipline, disrespect for authority, and environmental degradation continue to weaken the country’s social fabric and threaten national cohesion if not urgently addressed.
According to her, national development must be viewed beyond roads, buildings, and policy initiatives, emphasising that ethical leadership and responsible citizenship are needed to sustain national gains.
“The nation cannot thrive on infrastructure and policies alone without morally responsible citizens to uphold them,” she noted, adding that character formation must be central to Ghana’s development agenda.
The MCE further called for a renewal of values across all sectors of society, including homes, schools, workplaces, and public institutions. He urged citizens to embrace honesty, accountability, and respect for laws and leadership structures.
She emphasised that rebuilding public trust and strengthening national unity must begin with a deliberate national commitment to ethical conduct, describing it as the true foundation for long-term peace and prosperity.
