GPHA Renews Commitment to Stakeholder Collaboration at 40th Anniversary Launch

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has renewed its commitment to stakeholder collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth as it officially launched activities to mark its 40th anniversary.

The ceremony, held on Thursday, brought together leading figures from the maritime, shipping, logistics, and trade sectors to mark GPHA’s four decades of service to Ghana’s economic development.

Speaking during the ceremony, Director-General Major General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono thanked staff and partners whose dedication has shaped GPHA’s journey.

He noted that the anniversary celebrations would serve as a platform to reflect on achievements, deepen stakeholder engagement, and strengthen collaboration in pursuit of the Authority’s vision.

The Board Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, confirmed the Board’s resolve to position GPHA as a catalyst for national development.

He emphasised the Authority’s focus on improving operational capacity and adopting green port technologies to ensure sustainability and competitiveness for the next 40 years.

“GPHA will continue to set industry benchmarks while pursuing excellence and innovation in its operations,” Mr Nketiah stated, adding that the Authority remains grateful to stakeholders whose partnership has fueled its growth.

The anniversary, celebrated under the theme “40 Years of Service, Partnership and Progress — Building West Africa’s Trade and Logistics Hub,” will feature a series of activities designed to engage staff, industry players, and stakeholders as GPHA reflects on its journey and looks ahead to the future.
