Transport Minister Praises VLTL Staff for Port Progress

The Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has praised the Management and staff of the Volta Lake Transport Limited (VLTL) for their dedication and the remarkable progress achieved towards the establishment of a new port to supplement the existing facility.
During a working visit to inspect ongoing works, Mr Nikpe encouraged the team to sustain their momentum, assuring them that once the projects are fully executed, the President will be pleased to commission them.
The new port forms part of the government’s efforts to promote an intermodal transport system that will ease congestion at the Port of Tema and improve connectivity across Ghana and neighbouring landlocked countries.
Staff of VLTL described the Minister’s presence as historic, noting that he is the first Transport Minister to visit the facility in the last decade.
They said his engagement had motivated them to give their best and requested that he convey their efforts and achievements to President Mahama.
