Bosome Freho DCE Presents Educational Materials to Pupils On ‘My First Day at School’
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho, Mr Charles Appiah-Kubi, has presented educational materials to newly enrolled pupils in selected schools across the district as part of activities marking the annual My First Day at School programme.
The presentation was delivered during a tour of selected basic schools in the district to officially welcome Kindergarten One (KG 1) and Basic One pupils who had just enrolled.
Items distributed included exercise books, pencils, pens, biscuits, and assorted drinks to help new entrants feel welcome and comfortable as they begin their academic journey.
The My First Day at School exercise took the DCE and officials from the District Assembly and the District Education Directorate to several schools, including Besease D/A Primary School, Semdadieso D/A School, Freboye D/A School, Anyanso Ahmadiyya Primary School and Anyanso Methodist Primary School, among others.
The visit forms part of the Ghana Education Service’s annual programme to welcome new pupils into the formal education system while promoting school enrolment and retention.
Speaking during the visits, Mr Appiah-Kubi congratulated the new entrants and urged them to be obedient, punctual and committed to their studies in order to become responsible future leaders.
He also assured parents and community members of the Assembly’s continued commitment to improving teaching and learning conditions across the district.
Mr Appiah-Kubi noted that the Assembly had, in recent months, made significant investments in educational infrastructure, including the commissioning of a modern two-unit kindergarten block at Mafi D/A Basic School, classroom blocks at Tebeso II, Damascus and Fereso, as well as teachers’ bungalows to address accommodation challenges faced by teachers posted to deprived communities.
“Water is life, and education is the future. As an Assembly, we cannot achieve our development goals if our children do not have a conducive environment in which to learn,” he stated.
The District Director of Education, Mr Bruce Enin, who accompanied the DCE, commended the Assembly for its continuous support for the education sector. He also appealed to parents and guardians to ensure that all children of school-going age are enrolled and retained in school.
Some parents and members of the School Management Committees (SMCs) in the beneficiary communities thanked the DCE and the Assembly for the gesture, describing it as a source of motivation and encouragement for pupils and teachers.
