Ghana and Panama Sign MoU on Political Consultations

Ghana and Panama have signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to commence bilateral political consultations officially.

The MOU was signed on Sunday between the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Panama’s Foreign Minister, His Excellency Javier Eduardo Martínez-Acha Vásquez, on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly Session in New York.

The agreement seeks to deepen and structure cooperation between Ghana and Panama, particularly in maritime affairs, cocoa production, enhanced trade and mutual technical assistance in the extractive sector.

Mr Ablakwa used this opportunity to reconcile with Panama following Ghana’s Black Stars’ victory over the country at the recently concluded World Cup. The development is expected to further strengthen the friendly relations between Ghana and Panama.
