Roads Ministry Welcomes ALCoMA Delegation

The Ministry of Roads and Highways has welcomed a delegation from the Abidjan–Lagos Corridor Management Authority (ALCoMA), reiterating Ghana’s commitment to the successful implementation of the regional transport project.

The Deputy Minister, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, received the delegation led by ALCoMA Board Chair, Mr Wilfried Lauriano do Rego, during a courtesy call in Accra on Wednesday.

He assured the visitors of Ghana’s readiness to support efforts to advance the corridor and address outstanding issues required for its execution.

Mr do Rego said ALCoMA was prepared to begin operations and collaborate with member countries and stakeholders to move the project forward.

Discussions at the meeting focused on key implementation issues, including resource mobilisation, preparation of detailed designs, land acquisition and valuation, and compensation for project‑affected persons.

The Abidjan-Lagos corridor is expected to serve as a major economic and industrial hub in West Africa, facilitating trade and connectivity along one of the continent’s busiest transport routes.
