Private Sector Strategic Partner in National Development — Obuasi MCE

The Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Faustilove Appiah Kannin, has described the private sector as a strategic partner in Ghana’s development, saying its contribution to the delivery of essential services complements government efforts.

She said the private sector has made significant contributions to job creation, healthcare, and education, among other areas, expanding opportunities and services available to Ghanaians.

The MCE made the remarks when the management of the College of Integrated Health Care, a private nursing training institution in Obuasi, paid her a courtesy visit at the Municipal Assembly.

Madam Appiah Kannin commended the management for establishing the institution in the municipality and expressed appreciation for the services it was providing to the community.

She said the proposed Obuasi Nursing and Midwifery Training College would further expand opportunities for health education and training in the municipality, adding that the experience of the College of Integrated Health Care could provide a useful basis for collaboration.

The School Administrator, Mr Kelvin Anakpor, expressed appreciation to the MCE for the reception and pledged the institution’s support for the Assembly’s monthly clean-up exercises.

He said the visit was also intended to formally introduce the institution to the MCE and her administration and explore areas of collaboration between the school and the Assembly.

Mr Anakpor, who was accompanied by a nursing tutor, Madam Delali Amemo, and Mr Gideon Boamah, described the engagement as fruitful and expressed optimism about future collaboration.

The Assembly’s delegation included the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Joyce Akosua Angmorteh, and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr Ernest Kofi Offen.
