National Ambulance Service CEO Tours Near-Completed Volta Regional Administration and Dispatch Centre

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr George Kojo Owusu, has inspected the nearly completed Volta Regional Administration and Dispatch Centre, expressing satisfaction with the progress of work on the facility, which is now about 98 per cent complete.

The project, supported by The Hunger Project Ghana, would strengthen the National Ambulance Service’s operational and administrative capacity in the Volta Region while improving the delivery of prehospital emergency care.

During the visit, Dr Owusu toured the various sections of the new facility, including office spaces, the dispatch centre, conference room, crew room, cafeteria and other support areas. He also met with the regional management team to assess the status of the project and discuss preparations for its completion and eventual commissioning.

Speaking with staff, the NAS CEO highlighted the importance of the new administration block in enhancing coordination, communication and emergency response management across the region. He commended the project team for their commitment and praised the quality of work, noting that the facility would provide a more conducive working environment for staff.

Dr Owusu also expressed gratitude to The Hunger Project Ghana for its support in making the project possible. He said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening emergency healthcare services and improving outcomes for people in the Volta Region.

Once completed, the Volta Regional Administration and Dispatch Centre will serve as a modern hub for administrative functions and emergency dispatch operations, further enhancing the Service’s ability to coordinate rapid emergency responses and save lives across the region.
