Ashanti Regional Minister Joins Offinso North DCE to Commission School Blocks

The Offinso North District Assembly has commissioned a number of educational infrastructure projects, including classroom blocks and a toilet facility, at Akumadan, Nkenkaasu, Afrancho and Bosomposo.
The projects comprise of a two-storey, 12-unit classroom block at Afrancho Wiafe Akenten Senior High School, a three-unit classroom block at Afrancho D/A Primary School, a three-unit classroom block at Bosomposo, a three-unit classroom block at Akumadan Presbyterian Junior High School, a three-unit classroom block at Nkenkaasu Presbyterian Junior High School, a KG block at Nkenkaasu Methodist Primary School and an eight-seater toilet facility at Akumadan Frafraline.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, who joined the District Chief Executive for Offinso North, Mr Caesar Ofosu Acheampong, to commission the projects, commended the Assembly for the initiative. He described it as a significant intervention aimed at improving educational infrastructure and learning conditions in the district.
He assured the communities that he would liaise with the Director of the Department of Feeder Roads to explore measures to improve the road network and facilitate the extension of electricity to communities yet to be connected to the national grid.
The Regional Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to completing projects inherited from the previous administration as part of efforts to promote holistic development and improve the living standards of the people.
Dr Amoakohene expressed optimism that through the continued commitment and efforts of the Assembly, the development priorities of residents would receive the necessary attention.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Caesar Ofosu Acheampong, explained that pupils in some of the beneficiary schools had previously studied in dilapidated structures, some of which were in extremely poor condition. He said the Assembly therefore prioritised the classroom projects to provide safe and conducive learning environments and to ensure their timely completion.
He appealed to stakeholders, particularly teachers and school authorities, to take proper care of the facilities and cultivate a strong maintenance culture to ensure the projects remain functional and serve their intended purpose for many years.
The Akumadan Gyasehene, Nana Kwaku Boateng, who represented the Chief of Akumadan, Nana Boakye Akuamoah Boateng, appealed to the government, through the Regional Minister, to address the poor road network in the area. He noted that improved roads would enable farmers to transport their produce to market centres more efficiently and help reduce perennial post-harvest losses.
