CSA Calls for Greater Attention to Risk Assessment

• 1 MIN READ

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has called for greater attention to risk assessment as part of efforts to strengthen cyber resilience.

The call was made during the “CII Resilience Beyond IT: Securing Ghana’s Operational Technology Ecosystem” event organised by the CSA in partnership with Cybershield as part of the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2026.

The event, organised by the CSA in partnership with Cybershield as part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2026, brought together key stakeholders to discuss the security of operational technology systems that support essential services.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the CSA, Dr. Divine Selase Agbeti, said cyber resilience must extend beyond IT to protect the operational systems that keep essential services running.

According to him, risk management remains central to achieving cyber resilience, with risk assessment helping organisations identify and address their most significant vulnerabilities.

“Risk assessment enables organisations to prioritise controls and investments according to business, operational, safety and national impact, rather than simply responding to individual technical vulnerabilities,” he said.

The event served as a platform for strengthening risk management and ensuring that sectors can withstand, respond to and recover from cyber threats.
