CSA Warns of Growing Cyber Threats to Educational Institutions
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has raised concerns about the growing cybersecurity risks facing educational institutions, stressing the need to protect sensitive personal information, academic records and institutional intellectual property.
The concern was expressed at the Ghana International Conference on Cybersecurity (CGIC 2026), organised by SIIMT University College.
Delivering the Director-General’s address, Deputy Director-General for Regulatory Operations, Dr. Jamal Tonzua, underscored the importance of stronger cybersecurity governance, institutional preparedness and collective responsibility in safeguarding Ghana’s digital ecosystem.
As part of the conference, the CSA participated in a panel discussion and a live crisis simulation exercise, where participants received practical insights into cybersecurity threats, incident response and institutional readiness.
The Authority said such engagements were important in strengthening awareness and enhancing the capacity of institutions to respond effectively to emerging cyber threats.
