• 1 MIN READ

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has outlined ongoing efforts to restore selected forts and castles as part of measures to preserve Ghana’s cultural heritage and promote tourism development.

She made this known during a meeting with a delegation from the IMANI Centre for Policy and Education led by its Chief Executive Officer, Franklin Cudjoe.

Mrs Gomashie said the Ministry was also working to strengthen cultural preservation, protect intellectual property and promote Ghanaian creativity on the global stage.

She noted that Ghana’s heritage sites, including Kente, Fugu, highlife music, gastronomy and festivals offer opportunities to attract visitors and create business opportunities.

The Minister called for increased investment in Ghana’s cultural heritage, creative industries and tourism infrastructure to support economic growth, job creation and improved livelihoods.

The meeting explored opportunities for policy research and collaboration between the Ministry and IMANI to support evidence-based decision-making and sustainable development within the tourism, culture and creative arts sector.
