President Mahama heads to Central Region for two-day working tour, town hall in Apam

President John Dramani Mahama is heading to the Central Region today for a two-day working tour that will take him across several districts for infrastructure inspections, community engagements and a town hall meeting with residents in Apam.

The tour is part of the Resetting Ghana programme, designed to take the President out of Accra and into the regions for direct engagement with citizens on development, investment and the concerns of local communities.

President Mahama will begin his activities in Assin Bereku in the Assin North District, where he will address a durbar of chiefs and people and cut the sod for a new 24-hour economy market, one of the flagship initiatives of his administration.

He will be accompanied by key sector ministers and government appointees as he inspects four ongoing road projects across the region, giving the President a firsthand look at the progress of infrastructure works underway in the Central Region.

In the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, President Mahama will inaugurate a Community-based Health Planning and Services compound and present Free Primary Health Care kits, as part of the government’s drive to expand access to healthcare at the community level.

The President will also visit Cape Coast Castle, using the occasion to promote heritage tourism and support efforts to draw more domestic and international visitors to the Central Region.

The tour will end with a Citizens Engagement town hall at Apam Junction, where the President will report on development initiatives in the region and hear directly from residents on their most pressing needs.
