Residents of the Agortime-Ziope District are set to benefit from improved access to safe drinking water, sanitation facilities and healthcare following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Agortime-Ziope District Assembly and World Vision.

The agreement, signed under the Universal Service Coverage for Water, Sanitation and Health initiative, marks a significant step towards addressing critical water, sanitation and public health challenges in the district.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Volta Regional Minister, Mr James Gunu, welcomed World Vision’s intervention and described the partnership as a major boost to the region’s development efforts.

He reaffirmed the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to working with development partners to deliver sustainable projects that improve the living conditions of residents.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Agortime-Ziope District Assembly by the District Chief Executive, Mr Alfred E. Odikro, and the District Coordinating Director, Mr Reuben Akuffo.

The initiative is expected to increase access to clean water, strengthen sanitation infrastructure and improve public health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable communities, while supporting the district’s long-term socio-economic development goals.
