Dansoman Fire: Government, MP Support Traders to Resume Business

• 1 MIN READ

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and the Ablekuma West MP, Rev. Dr Kweku Addo, have joined forces to help traders affected by the Dansoman Market fire to rebuild their businesses and resume economic activity.

The intervention included cash assistance, industrial sewing machines and other essential equipment to help traders recover from losses suffered during the fire.

The Ministry’s Chief Director, Dr Marian W. A. Kpakpah, representing the sector minister, said collective support was crucial in helping affected individuals and households overcome unexpected setbacks.

She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to social protection measures that help vulnerable people recover and rebuild their livelihoods.

The intervention follows an earlier visit by the minister to the market, where she expressed sympathy for the affected traders and pledged to work with relevant agencies to coordinate relief efforts and provide psychosocial support.

Rev. Dr Addo, on the other hand, said the assistance, particularly for women traders, was intended to ease their hardship and help them resume their businesses.

The support is expected to give affected traders a foundation to rebuild their livelihoods and restore their economic stability.
