Grievance Redress Committee Set Up Ahead of Inner Ring Road Upgrade in Kumasi

The Department of Urban Roads (DUR) under the Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced that work will soon begin on the Improvement of the Inner Ring Road Project in Kumasi City.

In a public notice dated and signed on Thursday by the Ashanti Regional Director, Surv. Na-Em Iddrisu, the DUR said the project scope includes the dualization of the inner ring road from Santasi Roundabout to Ahodwo Roundabout, with improvements to both roundabouts. The project is being undertaken under the JICA Cooperation Framework.

As part of the implementation process, the Department said it has established a Grievance Redress Committee (GRC) on 30th June 2026 to receive and address concerns or grievances related to project activities.

The Department has assured all stakeholders that grievances will be handled promptly and transparently.

The Inner Ring Road upgrade is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve mobility within the Kumasi metropolis.
