GNFS Intensifies Road Safety Education on Tema–Akosombo Highway
The Kpong Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has conducted a three-day road safety awareness campaign along the Tema–Akosombo Highway to promote responsible driving and help reduce road traffic collisions.
The exercise, led by ADO II Okortor, took place from October 27 to 29, 2026, and involved direct engagement with motorists at strategic points along the highway.
Drivers were educated on key road safety measures, including speed management, seatbelt use, maintaining safe following distances, avoiding mobile phone distractions while driving, and demonstrating patience and courtesy on the road.
According to the GNFS, the campaign received positive responses from motorists, many of whom welcomed the safety messages and expressed appreciation for the engagement.
The Service reaffirmed its commitment to sustained public education and collaboration with road users to prevent accidents and protect lives and property.
